¡Che! Get ready to be transported to the vibrant streets of Buenos Aires! Our 2026 Spring String Thing features the passionate, rhythmic, and sophisticated world of Tango. MCDS orchestra students from grades 5-12 will be joined by the internationally renowned 5-piece ensemble Tango with Winnie featuring bandoneon, violin, cello, bass, and piano. 

We encourage you to purchase tickets by the beginning of this week to ensure there are PLENTY of tasty empanadas for everyone.(If you register for a ticket late or show up the day of, that's still ok for the dancing portion!) With lots of regular tangueros registering, there will be a ronda for them as well as one for all the new tango students and families.

Here's what to expect:

5:00 Doors open to everyone and food/empanadas are available

5:30 Orchestra students play with Tango with Winnie (you are welcome to dance!)

6:00 Break (with DJ'd music) (more dancing is totally fine!)

6:15 Catherine Young and Craig Rypstat are going to host a super beginner lesson (likely not of interest to seasoned dancers)

7:00 -7:45 (maybe 8pm) Dancing for everyone
