Workshop: "Directional Leading and Expressive Following”

Workshop Description

“Directional Leading and Expressive Following” will cover the use of basic rhythms & melody to allow both dancers to elevate their dance by making use of timing for embellishments as well as by being expressive without any additional movements. This workshop will also cover concepts and techniques for dancers to express themselves in alternative/modern songs.

About Kevin

Recently relocated to Madison, Kevin first got involved with partner dancing through a free summer series offered by the Yale Tango Club. There, he was taught by his peers as well as heavily influenced by his tango teachers, Tomas Corbalan, Dagny Miller, and Robin Thomas. His favorite dances often involve moments when the lines between leading and following seem to blur.

Kevin's workshop is followed by The Milonga Matinée 3 - 5 pm.

Cost

$20 for both tango class and milonga OR

• $15 - just the tango workshop, 2 -3 pm

• $5 - just the milonga, 3 - 5 pm
