Musicality and Interpretation with Anna Snider

Dancing in phrases is a simple way to make our dancing more musical. We will identify the beat, phrases, bridges, instruments, rhythmic and melodic phrases and learn techniques to dance to and appropriate embellishments for each type. The last half hour will be a práctica to apply these concepts to different types of music.

Appropriate for dancers with a little tango to intermediate dancers. No partner necessary. If you are not vaccinated against COVID-19, we ask that you wear a mask during the class.

Anna Snider has been dancing tango for 25 years and was one of the the first organizers of tango in Madison. Her professional life brought her to New York and Europe, where she lived, danced and taught for many years. Anna is happy to play a role in reinvigorating the tango community by sharing her passion for the music, the dance and the culture.
