Instructor's Bio:
With over twenty years of experience, Melanie has danced, taught, and performed Argentine Tango throughout the United States, Argentina, and Europe. After living in Buenos Aires and studying intensively with some of the most respected tango instructors, she developed a deep, authentic understanding of the dance that continues to shape her work today. Melanie’s love for Tango extends far beyond the steps. She is devoted to its music, history, and rich cultural traditions and etiquette, bringing both nostalgia and emotion into every embrace. Her dancing emphasizes connection — to her partner, to the music, and to the legacy of Tango itself. As a teacher, Melanie blends warmth with high standards. Her classes are cheerful, engaging, and thoughtfully demanding. She encourages her students to cultivate passion, sensitivity, and strong technique, while creating space for each dancer to develop their own artistic voice. In addition to teaching, Melanie is the hostess of one of Chicago’s most successful weekly Tango socials. For more than two decades, she has been an integral part of shaping the Chicago Tango community, fostering a welcoming, vibrant environment where dancers of all levels can grow, connect, and thrive.
